the order process
On the morning of your wedding, your cake will be delivered and expertly set up at your venue. I will ensure every detail is perfect and coordinate with your venue team, so you can relax and enjoy your special day.

Once your bespoke cake design is finalised, you’ll receive an order form to review and approve. The final balance is due eight weeks before your wedding day. I will coordinate with your florist and venue to ensure every detail is perfectly in place for your special day.

Once you’ve submitted your booking request and your wedding date is confirmed as available, I will provide an estimate for your bespoke wedding cake. A £250 deposit secures your date, and we’ll then schedule your initial consultation to discuss your wedding plans in detail. This allows me to understand your vision and requirements, ensuring I design and create a wedding cake that perfectly complements your special day. You will also receive a cake sample taster box to try the different flavours and make your selections.

The size of your wedding cake will depend on the number of guests you are catering for. As every cake I create is completely bespoke, pricing varies based on design and details. To give you an idea, the investment of your bespoke wedding cake starts at £650 and the average spend is £750 - £1200 for a tiered buttercream wedding cake.
Additional design elements such as fresh or sugar flowers, ruffles, metallic finishes, and stencilling are priced separately.

At Layers & Graces, every cake is freshly made to order, ensuring a perfect balance of beauty and indulgence. We believe a wedding cake should be as delicious as it is stunning, which is why we use only the finest, freshest ingredients to create unforgettable flavours.
Our cakes, biscuits, and treats are crafted in an environment where gluten, nuts, dairy, and eggs are present, so while we take great care, we cannot guarantee they are entirely allergen-free. Please inform us of any dietary requirements at the time of ordering, and we will do our best to accommodate your needs.

How soon should we book our wedding cake?
The majority of my enquiries start 12-18 month before the wedding date. If you have your venue booked then this is an ideal time to get in touch and secure your date.
Do you offer Taster Boxes?
Yes! When you book in with me I will send you a taster box to help choose your cake flavours. I also offer the option to purchase a taster box before booking. This allows you to try my cake before you book (although I am unable to hold dates).
Do i need to pay a deposit?
Yes, I require a £250 booking fee to be paid to secure your wedding date. The remaining balance is then due eight weeks before the wedding. If you haven't had a taster box this is included in the booking fee along with a zoom call to discuss your cake design.
Do you deliver the wedding cake?
Yes! As part of your initial quote I will advise my delivery and set up fee for your venue. I will deliver and set up your wedding cake the morning of your wedding cake so it is ready for you when you arrive!
what size wedding cake do i need?
As a general rule I advise to cater for 75-80% of your guest numbers. The portion size I ask venues to cut the cake into is 1"x1"x5". You can of course choose a smaller or larger cake. I also offer faux tiers if you want a bigger cake without the additional cake to eat.
Do you hire out cake stands?
Yes, I have lots of various cake stands and filler tiers which can be hired for a small fee. I request a security deposit on top of the fee which is returned once the hired items are received back within 5 days of the wedding.
